  • Incentives

    Take advantage of tax credits and other incentives such as state clean energy grants and local tax credits. We’ve seen many people that have gone solar with other companies and they had no idea of other incentives available because they were simply never told, or they never made sure to apply for them. That is part of our service, we will assist you with making sure you receive all of the available incentives in your state and county, and of course the Federal ITC is Federal and full tax credit of 30% of the cost of the system. We can go into full details on our in-home or virtual solar meeting.

  • SRECs

    You own your SRECs (Solar Renewable Energy Credits) when you buy your system and you should not give these away to the install company as we see with some of the national brands. We will fully explain how the SRECs work and do all of the paperwork to make sure you are registered to receive the SRECs. For every 1000 kwhs that your solar system generates, one will receive 1 SREC. If your system makes 10,000 kwhs annually this is 10 SRECs. And if an SREC is currently worth $60 then that’s $600 a year in SREC payments that you’ll receive. We can go into the details and not every state has an SREC, in fact only around 10 do. The good news is MD, VA, PA and DC all do, and the other states such as DE have other incentives in certain areas, and in WV it is possible to sell to a market in PA. The point is that all of this is confusing, so talk to a solar professional that has been in the business for years with hundreds of customers to make sure you get all of the details and proper info.

  • Federal Tax Credit

    Pay less tax this year with a 30% Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC). We will explain how the Federal ITC 30% tax credit works to make sure we are all on the same page and you know what to expect.

How ownership works

One of the most popular options today is purchasing a solar system by using a solar loan. There are several loan options we can discuss with you.

We have many solar loan options available ranging from 5-year to 25-year terms with several interest rates. Of course, you can always purchase the solar system without a loan and simply pay “cash” or by using a home equity line of credit (HELOC). We can review these options with you to find the option that best fits your situation.

When you own a home solar system, you own the system and thus your power outright, you also get to take advantage of all the solar incentives you qualify for.

During the planning stage, we’ll present you with all the incentives that are available to you, we’ll then work to get approved for each. Incentives range from the federal solar tax credit, to state-specific clean-energy grants, Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs), utility-specific cash back, and in some cases, county-wide incentives.

Had a fantastic experience with Solar Brokers and Wayne. Had 3-4 different quotes and went with The Solar Brokers. Wayne explained everything about solar in a much easier and simpler way than the others. The installation was flawless: all done in 2 days.

We turned the system on 9/30/21....got through the winter with lower bills, but once March hit in 2022 I haven't had a bill since then. In fact I have a surplus of over 5,500kWh to Nov 1st. That should see my through the winter as I only used 4,900kWh in 2021.

I received $12,500 off my Fed Tax returns, got the $1,000 credit from MD, and from the county I received $2,500 off my property taxes and so far in 2022 almost $1,000 in the energy credits, ( SRECs ) which I get every year until 2030.

At the rate I'm going the system should be paid off in 6 1 /2 years.

My electric bills were about $3,000 a year. In ten years that's $30,000 to BGE and nothing to show for it, not even including their annual increases!

With Solar? My system will be paid off in say, 7 years. If you don't 'Go Solar?' You're just giving your money to BGE. At least with solar you're paying yourself, You're going to spend the money ANYWAY. May as well pay yourself back.

Solar Brokers did an AH-MAZING job explaining and going over all the details of how things would go through a step-by-step process as well as the payment process too! The prior inspection went well and everyone that came to the house was very professional. The installation process and the people that did the install were great!
